My client are a growth stage medical device company, dedicated to improving the quality of life for stroke patients. Developing innovative catheter-based technology to extract blood clots from the brain following an Acute Ischemic Stroke, recently received FAD approval.


Overview:
A Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for managing the quality aspects of materials and services provided by external suppliers. SQEs work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and engineering, to ensure that the components and materials sourced meet the company’s quality standards and regulatory requirements



Responsibilities:
- Lead quality activities related to contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure compliance is maintained
- Co-ordinate activities related to supplier qualification, routine performance reviews and supplier audits.
- Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers on quality related matters.
- Collaborate with suppliers to address and resolve quality issues through development of appropriate corrective action places where appropriate.
- Maintain detailed documentation and records of supplier performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Act as primary point of contact for notification of supplier changes, and co-ordinate the associated change assessments by working closely with cross functional engineering colleagues.
- Support in-house manufacturing to ensure high quality products are delivered.
- Apply a risk-based approach to problem solving.

Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering or Science discipline.
- 2+ years’ quality or manufacturing experience in the medical device industry
