Regulatory Affairs Crop Protection Career Profile
Regulatory Affairs (Chemicals / Crop Protection / Biocides)
Both of these are niche areas which have their own EU Directives governing them. Crop protection operates under Directive (91/414/EEC) specifically. A strong knowledge of the manufacturing processes involved is also an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Registration and preparation of applications for approval of biocides, chemicals, pesticides and cosmetic products
- Advising about biocides and pesticides legislations in EU and worldwide
- Preparation of efficacy data of active substances and non-active substances
- Preparation of labels and directions for use
- Advising about special requirements for biocides and pesticides
- Classification and labeling of chemical substances and mixtures according to the CLP regulation
- Authoring of Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), as well as other product safety documents
- Identifying the roles and obligations of companies in accordance with REACH legislation (EC 1907/2006)
Skills / Experience
- B.Sc. (MSc / PhD desired)
- 3+ years experience in Regulatory Affairs, specifically within plant protection products / crop protection / chemicals / biocides / pesticides
