Technical Sales Engineer

Our client a company that supplies to pharmaceutical, medical device and biopharmaceutical industry currently seeks a technical engineer to join their team. Reporting to the Head of Sales/Head of Technical Service successful candidate will be Accountable for Providing product related governance and technical support for the assigned product range from the development phase through to sustainment throughout the product life cycle. Local SME on all product related matters and will provide support to the commercial team and provide support on decisions regarding the product range.
Executing product engineering projects which impact compliance, form/fit/function, cost savings, and product development.
Lead the evaluation of specifications for the current products and generate the necessary supporting data to support / enhance the specifications.
Review and approval of product drawings, lead of change requests, and any request that may impact the product.
Collaborate with customers to assist in nonconformance issues, ongoing projects, and identify solutions to problems in a timely manner to process.
Augment and maintain robust design history files for the current products and future product developments.
Plan and conduct ongoing competitive product analysis and product compatibility testing to provide key insights into the competitive landscape.
Understand and ensure a good knowledge for all aspects of the biologic manufacturing sector.
Liaise with the customer/equipment suppliers and lead any future design changes that may impact either the product or the manufacturing process.
Develop long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements;
Work with clients to demonstrate that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery;
Negotiating tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs;
Manage and present client quotations and administering client accounts;
Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education;
Working on after-sales support services and providing technical back up as required;
Facilitate product training internally and externally
Analyse costs and sales;
Prepare reports for head office and maintain customer records;
Supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events;


Ideally you will require experience of working within a biologic manufacturing environment, preferably within the biopharma industry along with a relevant engineering degree, or equivalent.
Experience with 3D CAD, or a solid modelling software, and single use disposable products would be highly desirable.
You will have exposure to an R&D setting, with the ability to work within a cross-functional team where you have successfully resolved product issues.
In order to be successful in this role you must have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
This role would be well suited to an individual who has a variety of experience and exposure to roles where you have pushed yourself out of your comfort zone and shown adaptability.
