Senior R&D Engineer

Our client a high potential medical devcie start up company based in Dublin are currently seeking a Senior R&D Engineer to join their team. The position will be one of the first hires outside the core group is a leadership role in the development of the Company’s new technology and will work as part of a number of development teams on projects to introduce products This Senior Engineer will provide technical leadership, project management and design input to the Company’s expanding product range.

Role/Responsibilities

To contribute to ongoing development, improvement and extension of the company’s existing technology and intellectual property portfolio through innovation and invention
To provide technical and project leadership for assigned R&D projects
To perform project tasks as delegated to him/her by the relevant manager in adherence to the companies procedures which have been developed in compliance to ISO13485, the Medical Device Directives and FDA 21 CFR 820.
To manage and co-ordinate procedures, protocols, reports and purchases relevant to the R&D tasks assigned to him/her, and to inform the Chief Scientific Officer of such details as appropriate.
To ensure that other project team members are aware of his/her role and function within that team and to communicate the results and findings of relevant work to the team in a clear and comprehensible manner.
Co-ordination of resources assigned by the relevant manager(s) to complete designated tasks.
To co-operate with the QA Department in developing test, verification and validation (including design review) procedures in relation to tasks designated by the Chief Scientific Officer.
To carry out other work as required by permutations of the business.

Skills/Experience

Educated to Degree level in a relevant engineering or science discipline
A minimum of five years relevant experience in the medical device industry. Postgraduate research experience may count in lieu but a minimum of 1 year’s industry experience is required.
Experience should include R&D activities while operating in an ISO 13485 compliant Design Control System and should involve experience in Design Verification and Validation.
