A Materials Manager is required to join a global Medical Device business in County Cork. The focus of this role to manage the Planning and Procurement function to support the manufacturing function. In this role you will build and foster a strong partnership with the Global Supply Planning and the Global Procurement groups to deliver Company goals in terms of revenue growth, inventory and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop and position the planning and procurement management functions at the Cork manufacturing facility so that it effectively supports local and international manufacturing and the global supply chain.
  • Establish the site Production Plan, Inventory Policies and Safety Stock Levels in line with approved budget.
  • Manage the Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) function.
  • Enable the implementation of the Company’s standard ERP platform.
  • Manage and develop cost effective, high quality material suppliers and subcontractors that comply with all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Support the calculation of product manufacturing costs and create associated costing reports.
  • Achieve budgetary targets with respect to expenses, capital, inventory, customer service levels and maintain cost reductions.

The Person

  • Proven leadership experience gained within a manufacturing environment, ideally from the Medical Devices sector
  • Strong supply chain management experience to include materials management, planning and procurement
  • Excellent communication, written and verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ideally, having APICS/IIPMM as well as relevant people management qualifications would be advantageous.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of prior experience in a similar role.
