Our client is an Irish owned Pharmaceutical Organisation who specializes in the development, production & distribution of generic human pharmaceutical products. They are currently seeking a Business Development Manager (Medical) who shall report to the Director of Medical Business. This role will focus on assisting to achieve our clients ambitious sales budget for significant business growth within their medical business, through the sale and or registration of our clients inhouse developed generic registration dossiers. The position is a key appointment within the company and will require high levels of energy and initiative to be successful.

Role/Responsibilities:
·Assist in driving the strategic development of the medical business through the sale of generic registration dossiers by promoting our clients extensive range of human pharmaceutical generic dossiers to existing or new clients.
·Compile and maintain a data base of your potential customers/companies to target on our clients’ database in relation to following: Country, List of companies in each country including contact person, Classification of these companies in terms of A (high potential), B (medium potential), C (low potential), frequency of contacting or visiting these companies, Products each company have expressed interest in, Log of Agreements issued/pending signature and signed
·During each Customer meeting compile intelligence on customer’s policy on in-licensing and any relevant competitor intelligence. Important to understand Customer’s wish-list of products and what products customers cannot find, this will assist our client with their R&D pipeline screening.
·A trip report is required after each trip containing minutes of meeting and follow up email so that an accurate picture of customer requirements can be maintained, trip reports are reviewed monthly with Manager and uploaded onto company server.
·Work closely with Costing Coordinator in order to send costings to customers. Assist Costing Coordinator to liaise with customers for further information to complete costing if required. Costings to be approved by Manager prior to sending to customer. A log of the costings/offers sent to be maintained on salesforce.com.
·Responsible for issuing and negotiate Confidentially Agreements, Licensing & Supply Agreements. Assistance from external lawyer is available if needed. Final version will be approved and signed by Manager.
·Once contract is signed a smooth handover to be completed with Regulatory Affairs Manager and Product Launch Manager. At your discretion, remain involved at different stages during the product launch. Once the product is launched, the customer account is transferred from Product Launch team to Customer Service team.
·Input is required in the annual Medical Sales Budget, your target sales budget in this area will be set annually and monitored monthly.
·Input is required in the annual Strategic Business Plan for the company and the department.
·Establish your annual Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI’s) with Manager on commencement of job, these are reviewed every 6 months.
·Monthly face to face meetings held with Manager and team meeting with Business Development Team (consists of 5 people in total) to review objectives and set same for following month or quarter. Review the Business Development data on salesforce.com.
·Deliver monthly updates on: Business development activity – target customers and markets for previous month and month ahead, Potential leads and course of action necessary to close the deal Performance against target; Market intelligence; Provide competitor intelligence information to Manager and Self; enabling our client to keep abreast of competitors and what they are offering in order to ensure our client is ahead of competitors.
·Work closely with the Medical Regulatory Affairs Manager to have input into the Registration Strategy of a product.
·Business Development (BD) team meeting happens every 4 weeks for 3/4 days in UK office. Review teams’ activity on salesforce.com, review company sales, do training, review status of each product that is live in R&D, discuss out licensing strategy & pricing strategy for products coming out of R&D.
·The BD team skype into the R&D meetings which happen every 2 weeks in the Irish Headquarters. This provides an update to the BD team as to the status of each product in R&D. Dashboards are set by the BD team for the R&D team to follow, this defines to the R&D team the timelines that must be kept. The R&D team seek the involvement from the BD team on various areas of development, sign off the trade dress of a tablet, be involved in the decision of what API supplier to use, what packaging material to use, seek brand leader samples, does a product need to be developed for markets outside EU, i.e. Canada, Brazil etc

Education/Qualifications:
·Degree/Masters in Science ideally with strong commercial background in generic pharmaceutical products.
·5+ years international sales experience.
·Availability to travel 1-2 weeks per month internationally.
